USHIO bolsters sales and support structure in the South China region

Tokyo, Japan – June 17, 2008 – USHIO INC. (“USHIO”) is pleased to announce that USHIO SHENZHEN, INC. has started its operation on June 16. The company has been established in the Chinese city of Shenzhen by USHIO HONG KONG LTD., one of USHIO’s wholly owned subsidiaries.

In recent years, deregulation and preferential treatment have been attracting foreign enterprises to the South China region. The principal industry in the district is thus shifting from its conventional processing trade to the so-called high-tech industry. In particular, companies in the LCD and semiconductor sectors are expected to invest in this region in the future.

In 2003, USHIO set up USHIO SHANGHAI, INC., a wholly owned subsidiary of USHIO HONG KONG LTD. that serves as a sales and support base in China. To expand the support framework for companies dealing with printed circuit boards, liquid crystal displays and semiconductors in the increasingly important South China region, USHIO obtained a certificate of incorporation for USHIO SHENZHEN, INC. on April 14, 2008. USHIO SHANGHAI, INC. will continue to operate as a support base serving the East China and North China regions.

China is a top priority region for the USHIO Group. The Group will be building a sales force that is able to closely serve customers in every part of China, so that it can continuously increase customer satisfaction.
