Announcement Concerning the Transfer of Gigaphoton Shares

As announced in the news release on April 25, USHIO Inc. made a decision to transfer all of its shares of Gigaphoton Inc., an equity-method affiliate based on a joint-venture agreement with Komatsu Ltd., to Komatsu Ltd., and entered into a share transfer agreement with Komatsu Ltd. on April 25.
Subsequently, USHIO Inc. followed the procedure for the transfer of shares. It announces today the completion of the share transfer on May 18, 2011.
