The Ushio Group has developed and released a wide range of products since its foundation in 1964 as a group engaged in the creation of light sources focusing on industrial light sources and optical devices. In particular, the strength of the Ushio Group lies in its close relationships with many leading client companies around the world and the large number of products developed by customizing optical products used within cutting-edge industries in close collaboration with our customers. These products have gone on to capture the leading share of their respective markets.

In our efforts to further cultivate deeper relationships of mutual trust with these customers, we strive to provide superior-quality products and services from a global perspective while continuously refining our proprietary technologies and creating markets for new light sources. Since the 1990s, we have been directing our attention toward the development of light sources for application in such processes as "exposure," "surface cleaning" and "heating" by exploiting the properties of ultraviolet and infrared energy. In the imaging field, as we witness the advance of cutting-edge digital technologies, we have been expanding our business domains to include digital imaging systems and solution services in addition to our traditional product lines such as light sources for office automation equipment and projection systems. Moreover, we are currently devising future strategies for new light sources for next-generation semiconductors and medical and biological devices as a means of contributing to the realization of an affluent society through light innovation.
