Halogen heaters lamps are used as heat sources to fix xerographic toner, dry ink, etc. The heaters are designed to discharge heat efficiently and feature a number of attributes that make them superior to alternative heating methods. These attributes include being clean, highly controllable, safe, compact and thin.
Halogen heaters are able to supply constant light for extended periods. This is because the halogen cycle prevents the sides of the bulb from becoming discolored, resulting in minimal reduction in the total luminous flux and color temperature.
Halogen heaters have a longer life than general incandescent light bulbs thanks to the halogen cycle. Compared to other products that have similar longevity, halogen heaters can boost color temperature.
To maintain the temperature of the bulb at more than 205℃C, it is necessary to keep the size of the bulb compact. For example, compared to other products that consume similar amounts of electricity, the bulb size is about 1/200 of general candescent light bulbs.
Because bulbs use fused quartz to maintain the high temperature, they have high resistance to thermal shock.
