Ushio to release new 400mW (CW) 404nm laser diode in December
Beginning in December, Ushio, Inc. will further expand its violet product portfolio with the manufacture of a new 404nm laser diode (LD). Offering 400mW (max. rated 500mW) of CW output power within a Φ5.6mm CAN package, HL40093MG will meet the demand for a violet wavelength LD suitable for use in industrial applications and beyond.
Ushio begins production of new high-power 638nm LD to meet rising demand
In response to increasing demand from the show laser market, Ushio Inc. is beginning production of HL63373HD in October. This 638nm laser diode (LD) offers 1.0W (CW)/1.2W (pulse) of output, providing an advantageous combination of high output power and small emitter size. Achieving this level of output power from an emitter width of 40um maximizes the use of laser light within the optics. Offering an impressive wall-plug efficiency of 41%, HL63373HD is packaged in a high-heat dissipation 9mm CAN, delivering improved temperature performance in comparison to a 5.6mm CAN package.
Ushio Inc. is releasing new violet laser diodes (LDs) HL40113MG and HL40115MG for 405nm.The latest additions to Ushio’s violet LD product line-up have 600mW of output power (CW). Although HL40113/115MG share characteristics with existing Ushio LDs, they offer significant improvement in wall-plug efficiency, slope efficiency*1, and overall lifetime.
Ushio begins production of new single-mode 670nm laser diodes
Ushio Inc. has begun the mass production of HL67191MG and HL67192MG, offering two new laser diodes (LDs) for operation at the 670nm wavelength. Providing output powers of 15mW (CW) and 30mW (pulsed), these single-mode LDs deliver high-temperature performance (up to 70°C) within a compact φ5.6mm can package. Both LDs achieve a low operating current of 30mA at 25°C (15mW in CW operation) and feature built-in monitoring photodiodes, creating high-reliability, cost-efficient devices ideal for battery-powered sensing and measuring equipment.
Ushio Wins Laser Society of Japan's Industry Encouragement Award
Ushio Inc. was awarded the 12th Laser Society of Japan Industry Encouragement Award for its high-power red laser diode (HL63520HD).This award is presented to those who have contributed to the development of the laser-related industry in Japan through the development, practical application, and dissemination of laser-related products and technologies. In particular, the Encouragement Award distinguishes “market development and future potential” and the following aspects of HL63520HD have been recognized:
Release of Red Laser Diode for Sensing and Bio-Medical Applications
Ushio Opto Semiconductors, Inc. (Head Office: Tokyo, President and CEO: Hiroaki Banno), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ushio Inc., will release a new 660nm red laser diode for sensing and bio-medical applications in February 2020. This series (HL65221DG) achieves the world’s highest single mode CW optical output power*1 of 200mW*2.
