Announcements Notice of Light Source Business Integration with Ushio Inc. Offering a one stop shop for all type of light source solutions from lasers, LEDs, to lamps

Ushio Opto Semiconductors, Inc. (Hereinafter “UOS”; head office: Tokyo, President and Chief Executive Officer: Hideaki Banno) announced that it will integrate the business with its parent company, Ushio Inc. (Head office: Tokyo, President and Chief Executive Officer: Kenji Hamashima), effective April 1, 2020.

By integrating the optical semiconductor device business (LEDs and semiconductor lasers) at which UOS excels and the light source business (lamps and modules) which Ushio Inc. has been operating since its establishment, Ushio Group will be able to respond to an increasingly diverse customer needs as well as business environment swiftly and effectively to accelerate the growth of the light source business.

Ushio Group will continue to provide optimized optical solutions for customers through a variety of light source products, and contribute to the realization of a prosperous society through innovation with light.

■USHIO OPTO SEMICONDUCTORS, INC. （Head office: Tokyo）UOS is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ushio Inc., established in July 2014, which has taken over the LD business and the red, blue, and infrared semiconductor laser diode business from Oclaro Japan, Inc.
