Acceleration of Growth of Optical Semiconductor Business by Consolidating LED and Semiconductor Laser Businesses

USHIO INC. announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, USHIO OPTO SEMICONDUCTORS, INC. will consolidate the business with USHIO EPITEX INC. effective July 1, 2016.

Since its establishment, USHIO, a leading manufacturer of industrial light sources, has developed, manufactured, and distributed various types of lamps. By consolidating the semiconductor laser business of USHIO OPTO SEMICONDUCTORS, INC. and the LED business of USHIO EPITEX, INC., USHIO Group will be able to increase the business efficiency and respond to an increasingly diverse business environment swiftly and effectively to accelerate the growth of the optical semiconductor business.

USHIO Group will continue to provide optimized optical solutions for customers through a variety of light source products such as lamps, LEDs, and semiconductor lasers.
