Notice concerning Provisional Injunction Order against V-Technology

In October 2015, USHIO INC. (HQ: Tokyo, President and CEO: Kenji Hamashima) (hereinafter “USHIO”) had filed a provisional injunction action with the Tokyo District Court against V-Technology Co., Ltd. (HQ: Yokohama, Kanagawa) (hereinafter “V-Technology”) regarding its exposure system for photo alignment process of IPS/FFS display (product name: AEGIS-IPS) which USHIO alleges infringes its patent (Patent No. 4815995). On June 24, 2016, a provisional injunction order against the manufacture and sale of the following subject item was issued by the court, where the court acknowledged USHIO’s allegation.

V-Technology’s exposure system for photo alignment process of IPS/FFS display (product name: AEGIS-IPS) whose light source for polarized light irradiation consists of 3 lines of irradiation units.

At the same time as filing the above provisional injunction action, USHIO already filed a lawsuit regarding infringement of the said patent against V-Technology with the Tokyo District Court, where USHIO claims permanent injunction against the manufacture and sale of exposure system for photo alignment process of IPS/FFS display (product name: AEGIS-IPS), including the above subject item, as well as compensation for damages. This lawsuit is still pending.
