USHIO Status Update on the Tohoku District-off the Pacific Ocean Earthquake(3rd report)
As of March 22, 2011 at 13:00, USHIO INC. has updated the operational status of USHIO and the USHIO group company after the Tohoku District-off the Pacific Ocean Earthquake. Please note the changes are made to TSUKUBA USHIO status.
1. Production
(1) Operations at the USHIO Harima Division and USHIO LIGHTING, INC. went uninterrupted and are fully functional. The company has confirmed that all of its employees are safe and there was no significant external damage to the factory or warehouse structures.
(2) USHIO Gotemba Division has implemented a staggered work shift in response to scheduled rolling power outage. TSUKUBA USHIO has gradually resumed its production as the facility infrastructure was inspected and confirmed safe.

2.Supply Chain
USHIO is in communication with its suppliers and will continuously assess their status as information becomes available.
3. Sales
In order to ensure uninterrupted customer services in Japan, USHIO Osaka branch has expanded its operation and has started to support Ushio Tokyo Sales.
All USHIO overseas subsidiaries and affiliates remain fully operational. Please contact our sales office nearest you for further information.

4. Product Shipment
(1) USHIO Sales is continuously communicating with its customers in Japan, particularly in the affected Tohoku (northeastern) region, in which distribution delays are expected.
(2) USHIO Sales has confirmed delays in transportation and customs clearance in the export process to its overseas customers and will continue to communicate with those are affected by the delays.
5. Research and Development
USHIO’s Research and Development group were not affected by the earthquake and are fully operational.
